Hello! I'm Devin Young, a dedicated and driven Prince George's County, MD native who will be earning a Bachelor's degree in Computer Technology with a concentration in Network Enterprise Infrastructure at Bowie State University in May of 2025.
I am eager to combine my solid IT foundation with cybersecurity knowledge to make a positive and impactful difference in the technology industry.
My ultimate goal is to leverage my skills to protect and enhance the digital landscape while contributing to the safety and security of organizations.
Key profressional experiences include my time as a:
"Cyber Futures Intern" with MITRE where I researched adversarial techniques within the MITRE ATT&CK Framework, proposed 48 new detections/mitigations, and provided unique detection approaches to cybersecurity professionals.
"Cybersecurity Intern" with Booz Allen Hamilton where I supported the Cyber Incident Response Team in investigating anomalous activities, helped develop SOPs for asset compromises, and participated in tabletop exercises to enhance response strategies.
"Information Security Analyst Intern" with Federated Hermes where I Investigated 320+ phishing alerts using security tools such as CrowdStrike Falcon, Mimecast, and Microsoft Defender, and participated in vulnerability management.
"IT Support Intern" with Managed Funds Association where I diagnosed and resolved hardware/software issues, provided technical support, managed Windows updates, deployed new hardware, and ensured compliance with asset inventory and licensing.
As for my educational background, I'm a "Computer Technology" major with a concentration in "Network Enterprise Infrastructure", which primarily focuses on network architecture, network/system administration, and network security (in addition to gaining experience in other areas of IT such as programming, database development, PC architecture, and IT support essentials).
